Mariner System Report (Games of 8/13)

Seattle (MAJ: 56-61; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 10-6 at Texas. Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) gave up seven runs on six hits and took the loss. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) had a pinch hit, RBI triple in the top of the ninth.

Tacoma (AAA – 65-55; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma won 9-3 at Portland. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) hit a pair of homers and drove in three runs. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) and Chris Snelling (WI ’00) both hit home runs and knocked in a pair of runs. Rich Dorman (WI ’03) struck out seven over seven innings and allowed three runs on three hits for the win.

San Antonio (AA – 51-66; 24-25 second half 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 7-2 to Tulsa. The loss was the ninth straight for the Missions. Mike Wilson’s solo home run was one of only three hits for San Antonio.

Inland Empire (High-A – 62-56, 23-25 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 10-7 at Lancaster. Brent Johnson (WI ’05) had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the 66ers. Inland Empire was down 10-2 heading into the top of the ninth, but the rally fell short.

Everett (Short Season-A – 25-29; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Boise 6-4. Carlos Peguero had three hits, including a home run, and scored a pair of runs. Ricky Orta allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings for the win.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 21-22; 7-8 T-5th Arizona League): The Mariners lost 9-6 to the Rangers. Alex Liddi homered and drove in a pair of runs for the M’s. The Rangers scored four times in the top of the ninth.
