Wednesday NIght in the MWL

Peoria 9, @Wisconsin 5 -- The Rattlers were up 5-4 with two outs and none on in the top of the sixth. Ouch.

@Clinton 7, Cedar Rapids 4 -- There's that scene in Dodgeball where Ben Stiller's assistant comes into his office and says, "Look at these pictures, sir. They're getting better!" Look at this story. The LumberKings are getting better.

@Fort Wayne 4, Dayton 1 -- The Wizards put more space between themsevles and the Dragons for the Eastern Division Wild Card.

@Beloit 6, Quad Cities 5 -- The Snappers tightened the race for the second half Western Division title.

South Bend 11, @Burlington 1 -- Luke Hochevar was limited to 35 pitches and shutout the Silver Hawks for two innings. South Bend waited until he was out of the game and went to town.

@Lansing 9, Southwest Michigan 0 -- Lugnuts get a much needed win over the D-Rays.

@Kane County 6, West Michigan 3 -- The Whitecaps are 1-6 on their current road trip. It would be impossible for the Cougars to care less. Heck, today's headline in the Chronicle has them sweeping the Caps in a three game series. Um, one more game to go, guys. Manager Aaron Nieckula, what do you think?
"No, we're the best team," Cougars manager Aaron Nieckula said. "They have the best record, but we feel we're the best team."

Okay, then.
