Two other Rainiers left the team this week: First baseman Roberto Petagine was released Thursday, and pitcher Thomas Oldham retired.Hopefully more Oldham a bit later.
Petagine had a big spring training and earned a roster spot with the Mariners but was optioned to Tacoma on July 20 and went 1-for-6 for the Rainiers. Oldham, who was 1-1 with 6.87 ERA in 18-1/3 innings, battled arm injuries this season.
A place to follow the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League, Minor League baseball, Major League Baseball, and everything in between in that order.
