Seattle (MAJ: 56-67; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 9-7 at Los Angeles. Ben Broussard had four hits and knocked in three runs, but the Mariners lost their tenth straight.
Tacoma (AAA – 69-58; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Las Vegas 7-1. TJ Bohn (WI ’03), Rob Johnson (WI ’05), and Michael Morse all homered for the Rainiers. Francisco Cruceta struck out eight and got his twelfth win of the season.
San Antonio (AA – 53-70; 26-29 second half 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Tulsa 7-3. Jesus Guzman hit a grand slam in the top of the eighth inning for the winning margin. Craig James (WI ’05) blew a save in the bottom of the seventh, but picked up the win.
Inland Empire (High-A – 65-59, 26-28 second half; T-3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Rancho Cucamonga 2-0. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) pitched a complete game four hit shutout with seven strikeouts for the win.
Everett (Short Season-A – 28-31; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Yakima 10-6. Daniel Santin had three hits, including a homer and three RBI. Jair Fernandez had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Ricky Orta got the win by going five innings and allowed two runs on three hits with five strikeouts.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 24-24; 10-10 5th Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Giants 5-2.
