Most obvious headline ever

QC manager Dillard proud of son who pitches for Brewers

No. Really?

Good story, though.
Tim Dillard said he remembers running around the diamond at Davenport’s riverfront baseball stadium with his brothers.

He remembers watching the Mississippi River rise and chase the Midwest League team managed by his father, Steve Dillard, out of the ballpark in 1993.

He remembers 1994 even more vividly.

After all, when you’re 10 years old and polishing the game shoes worn by future major leaguers, life isn’t bad.

“Being able to hang around and shine shoes for guys like Billy Wagner and Richard Hidalgo, things were going pretty good,” Tim Dillard said.

Things still are going well for Dillard, 24, and a 6-foot-4 right-hander who is getting his first taste of major league action as a reliever for the Milwaukee Brewers.
