Milwaukee Brewers Report: Games of July 9, 2009

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 42-37; 1st National League Central): The Brewers lost 9-5 at Wrigley Field to the Cubs. Chicago hit four homers in the first four innings and went up 9-2 early.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 45-36; 1st Pacific Coast League American North Division): The Sounds lost 7-5 at Round Rock. The Express broke a 5-5 tie with a two run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 45-35 overall, 7-4 second half; 1st Southern League North Division): The Stars won 4-3 at Tennessee. Michael Garciaparra (’03) was 3-for-5 with two RBI for Huntsville.

BREVARD COUNTY (High-A: 44-27 overall, 4-3 second half; 4th Florida State League North Division): The Manatees split a doubleheader at Charlotte. Brevard County won game one 9-4. The Stone Crabs scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Manatees 2-1.

HELENA (SHORT SEASON ROOKIE: 6-4; T-1st Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers won 5-4 at Billings. Helena scored twice in the top of the ninth to rally for the win.

AZL BREWERS (ROOKIE: 5-5; T-2nd Arizona League East Division): The Brewers beat the Rangers 3-1.
