Mariner System Report (Games of 8/3)

Seattle (MAJ: 53-54; 4th AL West): The Mariners were off on Thursday.

Tacoma (AAA – 59-52; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Iowa 7-2. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) had four hits in front of a lot of people from Marshalltown, Iowa. TJ Bohn (WI ’03) had three hits and drove in a pair of runs and Brian LaHair (WI ’04) homered and also knocked in two for the Rainiers.

San Antonio (AA – 51-57; 24-16 second half 1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Corpus Christi 6-3. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) pitched eight innings and allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts for his fourth win in a row. Mike Wilson (WI ’05) homered and Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) added a pair of hits and an RBI.

Inland Empire (High-A – 59-50, 20-19 second half; T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Stockton 6-3. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) got his sixth win of the season for the 66ers with six solid innings. Luis Valbuena (WI ’06) had a pair of hits and an RBI for the 66ers. Jose De La Cruz got the save.

Everett (Short Season-A – 22-22; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Tri-Cities 6-5 in eleven innings. The Dust Devils tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Daniel Santin drove in the winning run with an RBI ground out in the top of the eleventh. Gavin Dickey drove in four of the six runs for the Sox, who have won five straight games.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 16-19; 2-5 T-6th Arizona League): The Mariners 6-5 to the Rangers. The Rangers scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Carlos Peguero hit his seventh homer of the season for the M’s.
