Seattle (MAJ: 53-56; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 5-2 to Oakland. Seattle managed just four hits and the final eighteen batters of the game were set down in order by A’s pitching. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) took the loss. Oakland has beaten the Mariners eleven times in a row.
Tacoma (AAA – 60-53; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 6-0 at Iowa. Rob Johnson (WI ’05) had two of the four hits for the Rainiers in the game.
San Antonio (AA – 51-59; 24-18 second half 1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 6-4 at Corpus Christi. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) took the loss as the Mission offense had six hits in the game.
Inland Empire (High-A – 59-52, 20-21 second half; T-2nd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 5-3 at Modesto. Brent Johnson (WI ’05) was 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. Cibney Bello (WI ’05) struck out eight over six innings, but allowed four runs (three earned) and took the loss.
Everett (Short Season-A – 22-24; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 6-1 at Tri-City. Mike Schilling allowed two runs (one earned) over five plus innings of work for the loss.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 17-19; 3-5 6th Arizona League): The Mariners were off on Saturday.
