Mariner System Report (Games of 8/6)

Seattle (MAJ: 53-57; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 7-6 to Oakland. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez had a pair of hits, two RBI, and three runs scored. Gil Meche (WI ’98) took the loss as the A's beat Seattle for the twelfth straight time.

Tacoma (AAA – 61-53; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Omaha 6-3. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) had three hits and drove in a pair of runs. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) homered and knocked in two runs. Scott Atchison (WI ’99) got the win and Emiliano Fruto (WI ’02) picked up the save.

San Antonio (AA – 51-60; 24-19 second half 1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 4-3 in eleven innings at Corpus Christi. Sebastien Boucher (WI ’05) had a pair of triples and a pair of RBI for the Missions. San Antonio had a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the eighth, but could not hold the lead.

Inland Empire (High-A – 60-52, 21-21 second half; T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Modesto 10-7. Brent Johnson (WI ’05) had three hits and drove in a pair. Justin Jordan (WI ’05) allowed five runs over six innings for his fifth win of the season in a wild one in Modesto.

Everett (Short Season-A – 23-24; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Tri-City 4-3 in eleven innings. Kevin Reynolds (WI ’06) knocked in the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eleventh.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 18-19; 4-5 T-5th Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Royals 8-6. Greg Avilla hit his seventh homer of the season for the M’s. Alex Liddi had three hits, including two triples, and two RBI.
