Mariner System Report (Games of 8/7)

Seattle (MAJ: 54-57; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat Tampa Bay 5-4. Adrian Beltre and Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez both homered and knocked in two runs for the Mariners. Julio Mateo (WI ’00) got the win and JJ Putz (WI ’00) picked up the save.

Tacoma (AAA – 62-53; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Omaha 5-3. The Rainiers scored four times in the top of the ninth to rally from a 3-1 deficit. TJ Bohn (WI ’03) had a sacrifice fly to drive in the first run of the inning. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) blasted a two-out, three-run home run to put Tacoma in front.

San Antonio (AA – 51-61; 24-20 second half T-1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 7-0 to Wichita. The Mission offense picked up three hits in the game.

Inland Empire (High-A – 60-52, 21-21 second half; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire was off on Monday.

Everett (Short Season-A – 24-24; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Tri-City 3-2 in ten innings. Bryan Sabatella (WI ’06) had a pair of RBI, including a run scoring fielder’s choice in the top of the tenth to knock in the go ahead run.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 18-20; 4-6 T-5th Arizona League): The Mariners lost 3-2 to the Brewers. Brandon Morrow, the number one pick of the Mariners in the 2006 draft, gave up three runs on five hits and four walks over three innings for the loss.
