Awards for the Week

Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week:
Jeremy Moore, Cedar Rapids

.632 (12-19), 5 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 0 BB, 3 SO, 3 SB, 1.105 SLG

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Moore finds himself on this list after a week that included five games at home. After all, the Cedar Rapids left fielder has a .866 OPS at home this season with a .512 OPS on the road. So in five games on the week, Moore collected as many hits as he has in 21 road games on the season. The pinnacle of his hot streak was on Sunday, when Moore went 5-for-5 with a double and a home run in the Kernels' 9-6 win over Burlington. Moore was nearly as brilliant on Friday, garnering three hits -- including a home run -- in another Cedar Rapids win. In all, the Kernels have lost just one of the last eight games in which Moore has gotten a hit.

Midwest League Pitcher of the Week:
Nicholas Additon, Quad Cities

1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 0 CG, 9.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 13 SO

To lead off the final inning of Additon's four-inning start on Friday, Wisconsin shortstop Juan Diaz singled to left field. It was the Timber Rattlers' first hit of the game, and the lone safety Additon would allow. It was also the first hit Additon had given up in nearly two weeks, a streak that began March 24 and spanned 13 1/3 innings. While that streak finally came to a close, Additon still has a scoreless streak alive and well -- 26 innings without a run across six consecutive starts. During that time, the left-hander has allowed just eight hits and seven walks while striking out 24 batters.
