Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Timber Rattlers have fared on June 10....since 2000:

2000: The Rattlers split a doubleheader at Beloit. But, that's not what was important on this date. What was important about this day happened as the team bus pulled into the hotel in Beloit around 3:30 am from Fort Wayne. During the game on June 9 in Fort Wayne, Chris Snelling made a spectacular running catch in deep center in the seventh inning. Fort Wayne had runners on second and third with one out. Snelling had no chance to get either runner, but whirled and threw to third. Apparently, he stumbled after the throw and tried to brace himself from falling to the ground. Unfortunately, he broke his hand when he hit the wall.

Snelling being Snelling, he took his turn at the plate in the top of the eighth and drew a walk.

Snelling being Snelling, he didn't mention the injury to trainer Chris Gorosics until the bus pulled into the hotel parking lot at 3:30am. He did not play again for awhile.

GAME ONE: Wisconsin won 10-4. Ariel Durango had three hits and four RBI and Melqui Torres got the win.

GAME TWO: Beloit won 3-1. Hector Garcia hit a two-run homer in the first and Bobby Darula hit a solo homer in the third. Danny Delgado pitched a complete game, but took the loss. Rattler record after this game: 34-28

2001: The Rattler game home against Lansing was called on account of poor field conditions. The Brett Favre Softball game was played in the afternoon in a steady rain. The game was scheduled for 7:05pm on a Sunday after the return from Fort Wayne. It didn't happen. Rattler record on this date: 35-25

2002: The Rattlers lost 2-1 at Peoria. Tim Lemon hit a two-out, two-run homer off Tanner Watson in the bottom of the eighth inning. Wisconsin led 1-0 and Watson had given up five hits through the first 7-2/3 innings, but a two-out single by Chase Voshell was followed by the Lemon homer. Rattler record after this game: 28-35

2003: The Rattlers lost 5-2 at South Bend. BOBBY! Livingston lost for just the second time this season. He allowed three runs on eight hits over seven inning for his second loss of the season. Rattler record after this game: 36-26

2004: The Rattler home game with South Bend was rained out. Rattler record on this date: 25-33

2005: The Rattlers beat Cedar Rapids 13-5. Marshall Hubbard had four hits and two RBI. Mike Wilson and Matt Tuiasosopo both homered. Randy Frye got the win with three innings of scoreless relief. Rattler record after this game: 35-26

2006: The Rattlers lost 4-2 at Lansing. The Lugnuts scored a run in the seventh and a run in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. Luis Valbuena drove in both Rattler runs with a triple in the fifth. Rattler record after this game: 25-37

2007: The Rattlers lost 8-6 to Kane County at home. The Cougars scored five times in the top of the third inning for a 6-2 lead. Wisconsin tried to get back into the game, but couldn't get there...Despite an inside-the-park homer by Kalian Sams. Rattler record after this game: 17-44

I don't care what the record is today (2-5, by the way) Everything is down today on the anniversary of a Snelling injury.
