Here is how the Rattlers have fared on June 17...since 2000.
2000: The Rattlers lost 5-4 to Michigan at home. John Buck broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the fifth inning. Travis Anderson struck out 10 batters over 7-1/3 innings for the Battle Cats. Rattler record after this game: 37-30
2001: The Rattlers beat Michigan 7-5 at home in the final game of the first half. Jamie Bubela scored the go-ahead run on a foul popup off the bat of Joe Rodriguez in the bottom of the seventh inning. Clint Nageotte got the win in relief. Wisconsin ended the first half with a record of 42-26, but they missed the playoffs. Quad City also went 42-26 and had the tie-breaker over the Rattlers.
2002: The Rattlers were off for the Midwest League All-Star Break.
2003: The Rattlers were off on the day of the Midwest League All-Star Game.
2004: The Rattlers won 15-14 at Dayton. Wisconsin scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally for the win. Wladimir Balentien hit a grand slam in the sixth as Wisconsin took an 11-1 lead. Dayton rallied back with seven in the seventh and six in the eighth for a 14-11 lead. The Rattlers got a run in the eighth when Nick Orlandos scored on a wild pitch. The three run rally in the ninth consisted of a run scoring error, a bases loaded walk, and botched double play. Rattler record after this game: 30-36
2005: The Rattlers lost 4-2 at Beloit. Jeremy Pickrel hit a two-run homer off Ivan Blanco in the bottom of the eighth inning to snap a 2-2 tie. Brandon Green's two-run double in the second gave Wisconsin a 2-0 lead. Rattler record after this game: 38-30
2006: The Rattlers lost 9-8 at Quad Cities. Wisconsin starting pitcher Ruben Flores set a Midwest League record with seven wild pitches in the game. Quad Cities scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to break an 8-8 tie. Rattler record after this game: 27-42
2007: The Rattlers won 6-2 at Cedar Rapids in the final game of the first half. Kuo Hui Lo had four hits and srove in two runs for Wisconsin. Rattler record after this game: 22-46.
A 3-3 record with some interesting games and a record setting performance make this a weird day in Rattler history.
