RHP MICHAEL PINEDA was signed as a non drafted free by the Mariners out of the Dominican Republic on December 12, 2005.
LAST START: Pineda took the loss at Peoria on May 24. He allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits over 5-1/3 innings. Pineda struck out four and walked two in a 5-4 loss.
LAST APPEARANCE: Pineda worked 2/3 of an inning in relief at Burlington on June 11. He allowed one run on no hits with two walks and a strikeout.
LAST WIN: Pineda beat the Lansing Lugnuts with 5-1/3 shutout innings on May 2 in Lansing. He struck out a career high seven batters, walked one, and gave up three hits. Wisconsin beat the Lugnuts 5-2.
VS. CLINTON: This is Pineda’s first appearance against the LumberKings.
VS. TEXAS: This is Pineda’s first appearance against an affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
THE START OF 2008: Pineda won his first two appearances for the Rattlers. He picked up a win in relief in the first game of a doubleheader at Quad Cities on April 5 and another win with two innings of scoreless relief against Fort Wayne on April 16.
THE STREAK: Pineda tossed 21-1/3 consecutive scoreless innings before giving up a third inning run in the start against Burlington on May 14.
