Thursday Night in the MWL

Wisconsin @ Cedar Rapids (PPD - Wet Grounds) -- No tarp + Lots of rain = no game. Two games tonight.

West Michigan @ Quad Cities (PPD - Wet Grounds) -- Same story up the road in Davenport. “There were just too many soft spots,” Swing manager Keith Mitchell said. “There was no way I was going to send guys out there, and Matt (Walbeck, the Whitecaps manager) felt the same. The field looks good until you walk on it. It was just too soft.”

Beloit 6, @Fort Wayne 3 -- It reads like the Wizards needed another day of rest. Alexander Smit had a no-hitter through 6-1/3 innings.

Lansing 3, @South Bend 0 -- Wasn't Mighty Casey a slugger? Casey McKenzie hurled seven shutout innings and gave up two hits for the Silver Hawks.

@Dayton 4, Southwest Michigan 0 -- Carlos Fischer with win number ten.

@Peoria 12, Burlington 9 -- Peoria scored six runs in an inning once. Then, they were down 9-6 ater the top of the eighth. So, they scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth.

@Clinton 11, Kane County 8 -- Clinton out slugs Kane County? Yep.
