Rattlers shortstop a major prospect
GRAND CHUTE — What were you doing when you were a mere 17 years old?More at the link.
"I can't even remember, to tell you the truth," Wisconsin Timber Rattlers manager Jim Horner said with a laugh. "I was in high school. We'll just leave it at that."
And you, Dana Williams?
"I was a junior in high school," the Rattlers hitting coach said, smiling at the thought.
If Carlos Triunfel wasn't such a hotshot, he likely would be following that same path in his native Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Instead, the youngest player in the Midwest League is Wisconsin's starting shortstop. And he's only — you guessed it — 17 years of age.
