O'Flaherty called up to provide M's relief

Getting cut by the Mariners after a fine spring training wasn't something Eric O'Flaherty was about to take sitting down.

O'Flaherty did sulk. Big time. Thing is, he only let himself do it for an hour, then took the rest out on opposing hitters in Class AAA.

That work paid off for the 22-year-old from Walla Walla on Friday, when the team recalled him from Tacoma and activated him for the game against the Los Angeles Angels.

"I was upset," O'Flaherty said of being cut in the final days of camp. "I was mad. But you've got to deal with it. But after about an hour, I was like 'OK' and then kept moving on."
