Mariner System Report (Games of 4/21)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 5-8; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 7-6 to the Angels. Seattle fell behind 7-0 and could not make it all the way back. Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) pitched two scoreless innings in relief in his 2007 major league debut.

TACOMA (AAA: 7-10; T-2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 4-3 at Salt Lake. The Bees built a 2-0 lead against Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) with single runs in the first two innings. Feierabend left the game after being limited to a pitch count of 55. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) tied the game with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning, but the Bees scored twice after the seventh inning stretch. Balentien extended his hitting streak to fourteen games with a pair of hits.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 6-10; T-3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 5-2 to Jacksonville. Juan Doñe allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits over 5-1/3 innings, but was tagged with the loss. West Tennessee’s offense managed just four hits in the game but drew eleven walks.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 5-11; T-4th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 13-4 to Lake Elsinore. The Storm scored eight times in the top of the sixth inning. Heading into the inning, Lake Elsinore led 3-2. Adam Moore (WI ’06) went 4-for-4 with two RBI for High Desert. Marwin Vega (WI ’06) pitched five innings and allowed six runs (five earned) for the loss.
