Mariner System Report (Games of 6/15)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 24-45 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 6-2 to Washington. The Nationals broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the eighth inning. The Mariners are a season low 21 games under .500.

TACOMA (AAA: 35-34, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Sacramento 11-3. Rob Johnson (’05) hit a pair of homers and drove in five runs to lead Tacoma. Robert Rohrbaugh (’05) struck out eight over 7-1/3 innings for the win.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 41-29, T-1st Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 5-4 to Chattanooga. West Tennessee fell behind 5-0 and could not come all the way back. However, Huntsville lost at Jacksonville (after a 3-1/2 hour rain delay). Tuesday’s second half opener between the Diamond Jaxx and Stars will be the playoff game for the first half North Division title.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 32-38, T-2nd California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Lake Elsinore 11-6. Carlos Peguero (’07) drove in three runs to help High Desert rally from a 6-4 deficit for their first road sweep of the season. Daniel Carroll (’08) was 1-for-4 with an RBI, a stolen base, and a pair of runs scored in his California League debut.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox beat the Everett Merchants 12-2 in an exhibition game. Everett hit three homers in the game. The AquaSox regular season begins Tuesday in Spokane.

PULASKI (Rookie: Appalachian League East Division): Pulaski’s season begins on Tuesday at Princeton.

PEORIA (Rookie: Arizona League): The AZL M’s season begins June 22 vs. the AZL Padres.
