SEATTLE (MAJ: 21-38 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 5-4 to the Angels. Seattle fell behind 5-1 and could not come all the way back.
TACOMA (AAA: 28-30, T-3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Salt Lake 6-2. Yung Chi Chen (’05) had a pair of hits and drove in three runs for Tacoma. Robert Rohrbaugh (’05) allowed two runs and struck out eight over 7-1/3 innings.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 35-24, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Tennessee 10-9 in 11 innings. Michael Saunders (’06) hit a pair of homers for West Tennessee. Luis Valbuena (’06) tied the game at eight with a homer in the bottom of the ninth. The teams traded runs in the tenth before the Diamond Jaxx scored once on a Jeffrey Dominguez (’06) sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eleventh for the win to snap a losing streak.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 26-33, 3rd California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 9-5 at Modesto. Gerardo Avila (’08) homered, tripled, and drove in a pair of runs for High Desert, but the Nuts scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally from a 5-4 deficit.
