Mariner System Report (Games of 6/9)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 23-41 4th American League West): The Mariners beat Toronto 3-2 in ten innings. Miguel Cairo drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth inning with a squeeze bunt. JJ Putz (’00) pitched a scoreless ninth, despite loading the bases, for the save.

TACOMA (AAA: 31-32, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 8-7 at Salt Lake. Jeff Clement (’05) and Bryan LaHair (’04) both homered and drove in two runs for Tacoma. But, Salt Lake scored twice in the seventh and twice in the eighth to rally from a 7-4 deficit.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 38-27, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 8-6 at Huntsville. The Stars scored five times in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie. West Tennessee tried to rally, but fell short. Johan Limonta (‘06) drove in a pair of runs for the Diamond Jaxx. West Tennessee is one game behind Huntsville in the North Division.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 27-37, T-3rd California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 21-4 to Lake Elsinore. Keith Renaud (’07) allowed ten runs on nine hits in four innings for the loss. Carlos Peguero (’07) drove in a pair of runs for High Desert.
