Midwest League Action (Games of 5/31)

May 31 action.

@Kane County 6, Wisconsin 4: Nothing to add.

@Fort Wayne 6, Dayton 3;
@Fort Wayne 10, Dayton 4: Wizards are +1 on the season.

@Peoria 7, Cedar Rapids 3;
@Peoria 3, Cedar Rapids 1: Chiefs sweep!

Burlington 3, @Quad Cities 2 (10 innings): Bungle is appropriate in this headline.
Quad-Cities reliever Wayne Daman had all-but worked himself out of a 10th inning jam, but after coaxing Bees stolen base leader Adrian Ortiz to tap a grounder to the mound for what would have been the third out of the inning, the ball fell out of Daman’s hand as he took several steps toward first base before attempting to throw to the bag.

That allowed pinch runner Antonio Jimenez — who had taken third on a sacrifice by Alvin Perez after Shawn Hayes opened the inning with a double — to sprint home with what proved to be the winning run.
South Bend 5, @West Michigan 1: 'Measly' is used to describe Whitecaps offense.

@Lansing 7, Great Lakes 4: Playoff-ready Lugnuts.

@Clinton 8, Beloit 6: Late LumberKing rally.
