RH JAKE WILD: Seattle’s 26th round pick out of the University of the Pacific in the 2007 draft.

NO SOX: Wild was a 17th round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2004 draft after he spent a year at Bakersfield College.

THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD: In his first season (2004) at Bakersfield College, Wild picked up seven saves and earned honorable mention on the Western States All-Conference team. In his second year with the Renegades, Wild earned First Team recognition on the Western States Conference All-Conference team with an ERA of 2.42 in 89.1 innings pitched.

BASEBALL PACIFIC: Wild was 1-9 with a 7.07 ERA and two saves in 28 games (three starts) for the Tigers in 2007. He struck out 41 strikeouts in 49.2IP.

2007 AS A PRO: Wild appeared in 17 games (4 starts) for the Arizona League Mariners after signing with Seattle. He was 3-2 with two saves and a 1.88ERA. He struck out 62 batters in 48 innings during the regular season.

LAST START: Wild made his first Midwest League start on April 30 against the West Michigan Whitecaps. He allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits over 1-2/3 innings with a walk and no strikeouts. He took the loss in a 6-1 Whitecaps win.

LAST APPEARANCE: Wild worked 3-1/3 scoreless innings in relief at Burlington on June 9. He allowed three hits and struck out four without a walk.

VS. CLINTON: Wild is making his first appearance against the LumberKings today.

VS. TEXAS: Wild pitched two innings against the Arizona League affiliate of the Rangers on July 4, 2007. He allowed one run on two hits without walking a batter. Wild also struck out four in the game.
