Brewers: April 10, 1997

After opening the season with a 15-4 win in Toronto, the Brewer bats were quiet in a 3-1 ten inning loss to the Blue Jays on April 10.

Mike Caldwell got the ball for the Brewers and he was facing Dave Steib.

The Blue Jays got a run in the bottom of the second on a Garth Iorg RBI triple. Milwaukee charged back to take the lead with two runs in the top of the third.

Paul Molitor scored on a triple by Charlie Moore. Ben Oglivie knocked in Moore with a single.

Toronto tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI double by Buck Martinez. That was the last run given up by the starters. Caldwell was nicked for ten hits over seven innings. Steib walked five and gave up seven hits in his eight innings of work.

The Blue Jays scored the winning run off Rollie Fingers in the bottom of the tenth. Barry Bonnell, who was 4-for-4 heading into his final at bat of the game, singled in Damaso Garcia with two outs and the Jays had the win.

The loss dropped Milwaukee's record to 1-1. Complete box score and play-by-play are HERE.
