The '97 Mariners saw their four game winning streak end on April 13. It was a former Appleton Fox who had a lot to do with ending that streak.
Tom Gordon (Foxes, '88) was a starting pitcher for the Red Sox during the 1997 season and he gave up one unearned run on four hits in eight innings as the Sox beat Seattle 7-1 at Fenway.
Tim Naehring put the game away with a two out grand slam off Scott Sanders in the bottom of the third.
Seattle's record is at 6-5 after this loss. They are one game out in the AL West.
