SEATTLE (MAJ: 48-36; 2nd AL West): The Mariners shut out Oakland 4-0. Felix Hernandez (WI '03) allowed two hits over eight innings for the win. Adrian Beltre hit a three run home run for the only runs Seattle would need.
TACOMA (AAA: 39-51; T-3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Portland 8-3. Sebastien Boucher (WI ’05) had a pair of hits, an RBI, and a run scored for Tacoma. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) allowed two runs over six innings for the victory.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 38-52 overall; 7-13 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Birmingham 4-3. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) singled in a run for West Tennessee. Charlton Jimerson had a big home run for the Diamond Jaxx. Joe Woerman (WI ’07) pitched two scoreless inning in relief for the win. Mike Hrynio (WI ’04) pitched the ninth for a save.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 37-50 overall; 6-11 T-4th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-2 at Inland Empire. Johan Limonta (WI ’06) had a pair of hits and scored a run for High Desert.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 9-10 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox lost 6-1 to Salem-Keizer. Matt Mangini hit a home run for Everett’s only tally.
AZL Mariners (Rookie: 10-3; T-1st Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Athletics 5-4. They trailed 4-3, but tied the game with a run in the eighth and won on a Jim Davenport RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.
