Thursday in the MWL

@West Michigan 4, Wisconsin 1 -- Paul Fagan deserved a better fate. The mlive.com writer makes it sound like Michael Hollimon's double in the seventh was anything but what it actually was, a routine flyball that fell in because the right fielder slipped and lost track of where it was. AYKM*? It was a big play, but it should have been the second out and the Rattlers should have been up 1-0 going to the ninth.

@South Bend 3, Quad Cities 2 (11 inn.) -- A foul pop-up that drops in in the bottom of the eleventh is key to a Silver Hawk win.

@Lansing 3, Clinton 2 -- The Lugnuts welcome Edward Rodriguez back from his 50-game suspension. Rodriguez shows his appreciation by getting the save. How about Joey Metropolous hitting a homer a day after Superman Returns opens in a theater near you?

Fort Wayne 7, @Southwest Michigan 6 -- The Devil Rays commit seven errors; the Wizards score seven runs. Coincidence? Read the book. Why do I have the feeling most of the people were there to see Ernie Harwell?

Beloit 9, @Kane County 6 -- Cougars were down by too much.

Burlington 6, @Peoria 5 -- If the Bees are going to be in the playoffs, they need to beat the Chiefs. They won last night, with a little help from the Chiefs.

Dayton 4, @ Cedar Rapids 3 --Kernels lose 10-game winner Nick Adenhart to a promotion, and the game to the Dragons.
