Seattle (MAJ: 36-37; 3rd AL West): Seattle beat the Dodgers 8-5. The M’s scored two runs in the seventh and four runs in the eighth inning to rally from a 5-2 deficit. Adrian Beltre had three hits and two RBI for Seattle. Julio Mateo (WI ’00) ran his record to 4-0 by working a scoreless seventh inning. Rafael Soriano (WI ’00) worked a scoreless eighth. JJ Putz (WI ’00) struck out one and did not allow a run in the bottom of the ninth for his twelfth save of the season.
Tacoma (AAA – 37-35; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Portland 7-1. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04), Adam Jones (WI ’04), and Scott Youngbauer all homered for the Rainiers. Both LaHair and Jones drove in three runs in the game. Cha Seung Baek (WI ’00) gave up one run over five innings for the win.
San Antonio (AA – 27-41; 0-0 second half T-1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio was off on Wednesday.
Inland Empire (High-A – 40-32, 1-1 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 6-2 to High Desert. Shawn Nottingham (WI ’05) allowed four runs (one earned) over seven innings for the loss. Juan Doñe (WI ’02) pitched the top of the ninth and allowed two runs on three hits. The 66er offense had just five hits.
Everett (Short Season-A – 3-0; T-1st Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Tri-City 2-0. Joe White drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Five AquaSox pitchers combined on a 5-hit shutout. Natividad Dilone pitched five scoreless innings with five strikeouts for a no decision.
