Saturday Night in the MWL

Quad Cities 9, Wisconsin 8 -- This brief recap at RattlersReport.com catches the flavor of last night's game, except that the Rattlers didn't get edged in the ninth. This story at QCTimes.net gives you the full spectacle of that game.

Peoria 8, @Kane County 5 -- That's first half Western Division Champion Peoria. They must be angry in Kane County. This story is headlined Cheifs beat Cougars.

@Dayton 4, Southwest Michigan 3 -- Dayton wins their fifth straight and clinches staying out of the Eastern Division basement.

West Michigan 7, @Fort Wayne 3 -- Whitecaps are up one game on the Lansing with one to play in the half after winning last night. The Wizards are still trying to figure it out.

@South Bend 4, Lansing 2 -- Back-to-back homers help the Hawks win. The Lugnuts fall out of first. Lansing has the tie-breaker on West Michigan, so they need a win and a Cap loss to get the first half title. It's all in the attitude.

@Cedar Rapids 5, Beloit 4 -- Kernels win. Bobby Mosebach scatters ten hits over 7-1/3 innings for the victory.

Burlington 5, @Clinton 4 -- L-Kings tied the game with three in the bottom of the eighth. Bees get one in the top of the ninth. Bees clinch a winning record for a half for the first time since the second half of 1999. Go Bees!
