Last Night in the MWL

Kane County 7, @Wisconsin 3 -- Ouch. Also, Brett has a first-half post-mortem HERE at RattlersReport.com.

@Fort Wayne 3, Cedar Rapids 2 (12 inn) -- I found it interesting that Nick Adenhart started the All-Star game in Davenport on Tuesday and came back to start the second half opener for the Kernels. He pitched 7-1/3 innings, but wasn't around for the decision. Matt Bush, a former #1 overall pick, is back with the Wizards. He wants to shut people up a little bit.

South Bend 10, @Dayton 7 -- Dragons open half number two with a loss. Get this, another former #1 pick, Justin Upton of the Silver Hawks, gets treated just like everyone else.

@Beloit 4, Lansing 3 -- All-Stars Drew Thompson & Caleb Moore come through for the Snappers.

Quad Cities 4, @Peoria 0 -- Another Cub on a rehab assignment, Wade Miller, tosses for the Chiefs. Miller didn't allow any runs, but the bullpen did. Adam Daniels struck out nine for the SWING. The story mentions the possibility of Miller starting at Fox Cities Stadium against the Rattlers on Tuesday, June 27.

Southwest Michigan 2, @Clinton 1 -- The L-Kings were looking for a fresh start. They, um, didn't get it.

West Michigan 8, @Burlington 4 -- The Bees didn't like the All-Star break that much. If you got to the story, go out to the main sports page of The Hawkeye. The caption of the picture coins a new term for a solo home run. "A single homer?" IT may only be there for today, though.
