Mariner System Report (Games of 6/25)

Seattle (MAJ: 38-39; 3rd AL West): Seattle beat San Diego 9-4. Richie Sexson was 5-for-5 with two homers and three RBI to lead the way for the Mariners. Rene Rivera (WI ’03) had a pair of hits and scored to runs to help out.

Tacoma (AAA – 41-35; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Portland 6-5 for a 5-game sweep of the Beavers. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) drove in four runs, including the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rob Johnson (WI ’05) added a pair of hits and an RBI. Tom Oldham (WI ’04) got the win for Tacoma. The Rainiers have won seven straight games.

San Antonio (AA – 30-42; 3-1 second half T-1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Springfield 8-4. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) hit a grand slam and drove in five RBI in the win for the Missions. Travis Blackley allowed one earned run over seven innings for the win.

Inland Empire (High-A – 43-32, 4-1 second half; T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire was off yesterday.

Everett (Short Season-A – 6-1; 2nd Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Yakima 8-5. Adam Moore and Bryan Sabatella (WI ’06) each drove in two runs for the Sox. Ari Kafka got the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 4-0; 1st Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Brewers 15-5. Alex Gary (WI ’06) had four walks and four RBI for the M’s.
