Mariner System Report (Games of 8/18)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 68-52; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat Chicago 7-5. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) had two hits and an RBI for the offense. JJ Putz (’00) pitched a scoreless ninth for his 36th save for Jeff Weaver.

TACOMA (AAA: 59-69; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Sacramento 9-8. Bryan LaHair (’04) had a pair of RBI for Tacoma. LaHair and Jeff Clement (’05) both scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase an 8-7 deficit.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 53-72 overall; 22-33 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Huntsville 7-5. Mike Wilson (’05) hit a two-run homer in the seventh to break a 5-5 tie. Michael Saunders (’06) also homered for West Tennessee. Mumba Rivera (’05) pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 50-76 overall; 19-37 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 13-9 at Lancaster. Travis Scott (’06) was 4-for-5 with two homers and three RBI for High Desert. But, it wasn't enough for the Mavs.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 24-34; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox won 4-1 at Eugene. Greg Halman (’07) went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI for Everett. Rob Harmon (’07) allowed one run on five hits with four strikeouts over six innings for the win.

AZL Mariners (Rookie: 30-18 overall; 10-9 second half T-3rd Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 2-1 to the Royals.
