SEATTLE (MAJ: 71-52; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat Minnesota 7-2. Adrian Beltre and Richie Sexson hit home runs for the M’s. Former UW-Oshkosh Titan Jarrod Washburn allowed two runs on five hits over six innings for the win, Seattle's fifth in a row.
TACOMA (AAA: 61-70; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Sacramento 11-4. Jeff Clement (’05) hit a grand slam and drove in a total of six runs for Tacoma. Juan Doñe (’02) pitched the final three innings for the save.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 55-72 overall; 24-33 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Chattanooga 9-5. Brent Johnson (’05) had three hits, including a homer, and drove in two runs to send the Lookouts to their sixth straight loss.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 51-77 overall; 20-38 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Inland Empire 8-2. Travis Scott (’06) went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and three runs scored. Marwin Vega (’06) tossed a complete game and allowed two runs on six hits for the win.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 26-35; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox beat Spokane 2-1. Edward Paredes pitched seven innings and allowed one run on two hits with six strikeouts for the win.
AZL Mariners (Rookie: 31-18 overall; 11-10 second half 4th Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Padres 5-0.
