Mariner System Report (Games of 8/19)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 69-52; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat Chicago 11-5. Carlos Guillen had a pair of hits and five RBI to help Seattle sweep the Sox. Felix Hernandez (’03) scattered ten hits over 6-1/3 innings for his ninth win of the season.

TACOMA (AAA: 60-69; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Sacramento 3-2. Rob Johnson (’05) homered in the seventh to put Tacoma up 3-0. The Rainiers held on for the win after Jorge Campillo pitched seven scoreless innings.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 53-72 overall; 22-33 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx were off on Sunday.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 50-77 overall; 19-38 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-5 at Lancaster. Casey Craig ('06) had three RBI, but couldn't keep the Mavs from being swept by the JetHawks.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 25-34; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Eugene 6-5. Greg Halman (’07) hit his twelfth homer of the season. Kalian Sams (’07) hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to put Everett in front.

AZL Mariners (Rookie: 30-18 overall; 10-10 second half 4th Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 4-0 to the Giants.
