Mariner System Report (Games of 8/25)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 73-54; 2nd AL West): The Mariners lost 5-3 at Texas. The Rangers scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie.

TACOMA (AAA: 64-71; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Portland 6-0. Jorge Campillo got the win with seven scoreless innings. Rob Johnson (’05) drove in a pair of runs and Bryan LaHair (’04) homered for Tacoma.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 57-73 overall; 26-34 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx were rained out in Huntsville.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 52-80 overall; 21-41 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 4-0 at Modesto. It was the second game in a row in which the Mavericks were shutout on three hits.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 29-36; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox lost 5-3 at Salem-Keizer. Jim Davenport drove in all three Everett runs, but Everett hitters struck out seventeen times.

AZL Mariners (Rookie: 34-18 overall; 14-10 second half 3rd Arizona League): The AZL M’s were off on Saturday.
