Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Timber Rattlers have fared on July 1…since 2000

Kane County beat the Rattlers 6-2 in Grand Chute. The game was scoreless until Matt Padgett hit a two run homer in the top of the sixth off Rafael Soriano. Rattler records after this game: 7-3, 45-33

Burlington beat the Rattlers 2-1 at Community Field. Wisconsin scored a run in the top of the first inning off Zach McClellan. Derrick Van Dusen and John Butler kept the Bees off the scoreboard for the first eight innings. But, Aaron Taylor had his first blown save since joining the Rattlers. Two singles and a hit batsman loaded the bases with one out. A bases loaded walk forced in a run and an infield single drove home the winning run. Rattler records after this game: 8-3, 50-29

The Rattlers lost 3-2 to Michigan in ten innings at home. Jason Van Meetren tied the game with a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the ninth, Tim Merritt was at the plate with two runners on base. He lined an 0-2 pitch down the right field line that dropped in just foul. Michigan got out of the inning and scored a run in the top of the tenth on a two out throwing error on what should have been the final out of the inning. Rattler records after this game: 2-9, 32-48

The Rattlers won 5-2 at Quad City. John Nelson homered for the Rattlers. The pitching quartet of Tanner Watson, Miguel Martinez, Dave Viane, and Oscar Delgado out pitched the River Bandit duo of Scott Baker and Nick Blackburn. Rattler records after this game: 4-9, 42-37

The Rattlers beat Dayton 4-0 at home. Ryan Feierabend, Ruben Castillo, Casey Abrams, and Mike Hrynio combined on the six-ht shutout. Chris Colton drove in a pair of runs in the first inning and scored a run later in the game. Rattler records after this game: 4-4, 35-42

The Rattlers won 10-6 at Fort Wayne. Yung Chi Chen and Marshall Hubbard both drove in a pair of runs and the Rattlers held off another late charge by the Wizards. Rattler records after this game: 3-6, 42-37

The Rattlers lost 10-2 at West Michigan. Wisconsin had four hits and the only two runs they scored were on a two-out, two-run double by Jeff Flaig in the eighth inning. Rattler records after this game: 2-8, 29-51

The Rattlers won 5-2 in 11 innings. Rattler manager Jim Horner got ejected in the second inning and watched the rest of the game from the visiting radio booth. The Rattlers broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the top of the eleventh. Back-to-back two run singles by Trevor Lawhorn and Alex Liddi did the trick and the solo homer by Steven Hill in the bottom of the eleventh didn’t matter. Rattler records after this game: 5-6, 27-52
