RH JAKE WILD: Seattle’s 26th round pick out of the University of the Pacific in the 2007 draft.
NO SOX: Wild was a 17th round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2004 draft after he spent a year at Bakersfield College.
THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD: In his first season (2004) at Bakersfield College, Wild picked up seven saves and earned honorable mention on the Western States All-Conference team. In his second year with the Renegades, Wild earned First Team recognition on the Western States Conference All-Conference team with an ERA of 2.42 in 89.1 innings pitched.
BASEBALL PACIFIC: Wild was 1-9 with a 7.07 ERA and two saves in 28 games (three starts) for the Tigers in 2007. He struck out 41 strikeouts in 49.2IP.
2007 AS A PRO: Wild appeared in 17 games (4 starts) for the Arizona League Mariners after signing with Seattle. He was 3-2 with two saves and a 1.88ERA. He struck out 62 batters in 48 innings during the regular season.
LAST WIN: Wild picked up the win with a scoreless, hitless inning of relief against the Quad Cities River Bandits on June 5. Wild entered a 5-5 game in the top of the tenth and picked up the victory when Gavin Dickey hit a game-winning homer in the bottom of the tenth in Wisconsin’s 4-3 win.
LAST START: Wild took the loss at Dayton on July 9. He allowed five runs on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts at Fifth Third Field. The Rattlers lost 9-1 to the Dragons.
VS. FORT WAYNE: Wild struck out five over 3-2/3 scoreless innings against the Wizards on April 15. He allowed one hit and did not walk a batter in the long relief stint.
VS. PADRES: Wild faced the Arizona League affiliate of the San Diego Padres time in 2007. He picked up the save with four scoreless innings on August 1. Wild struck out four and allowed one hit.
