Mariner System Report (Games of 5/19)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 18-19; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 8-1 to the San Diego Padres. Seattle had ten hits, but only scored one run. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez had a pair of hits for the M’s.

TACOMA (AAA: 18-24; 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 12-0 to Tucson. The Sidewinders had 23 hits; Tacoma had just five. Rob Johnson (WI ’05) had two of the hits for the Rainiers.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 18-23; 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 4-0 at Huntsville. Justin Thomas (WI ’05) allowed four runs over six innings to take the loss. The West Tennessee offense had four hits in the game.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 15-27; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-6 to San Jose in ten innings. Chris Colton (WI ’05) had a home run and scored two runs for High Desert. The Mavericks scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 5-4 lead. San Jose scored twice in the top of the ninth to go up 6-5. High Desert tied the game with a run in the bottom of the ninth, but the Giants scored twice in the top of the tenth. Steve Uhlmansiek (WI ’07) made his California League debut for the Mavericks in this game and pitched a scoreless eighth inning.
