The '82 Brewers lost to the California Angels 7-2 at County Stadium on May 19. An old nemesis homered and Bruce Kison pitched a good game to beat the Crew.
That old nemesis, Reggie Jackson, hit a two-run homer in the first inning off Jim Slaton. California scored another run in the second. Then, Appleton Baseball Hall of Famer Brian Downing had a two-run single in the fourth inning to knock Slaton out of the game with the Angels up 5-0.
Kison pitched eight shutout innings allowed just five hits and struck out five for his third win of the season.
The only Milwaukee runs of the game came in on Don Money's two-run homer in the ninth off Don Aase.
