The '97 Mariners ended their four game losing streak with a 13-4 win at Anaheim. An early deficit was wiped out and a six-run eighth put the game solidly in the win column for Seattle.
Seattle starter Jamie Moyer walked the first two batters in the bottom of the first and Dave Hollins blasted a homer for the 3-0 lead. Moyer allowed only one more run over his six innings of work.
The M's got the game back to even with a three run second inning. An RBI single by Russ Davis and a two-run double by Alex Cora tied evened things up.
Cora homered, a solo shot, off Mark Langston in the top of the fifth. Jay Buhner hit a two-run homer in a three run sixth. After the Angels scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, the Seattle bullpen held them off the scoreboard.
Ken Griffey, Jr's two-run double and Paul Sorrento's two-run homer in the eighth were the big hits.
