Mariner System Report (Games of 8/1)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 59-47; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat the Angels 8-7 in twelve innings. Eric O’Flaherty (’05) got the final out of the top of the twelfth and got the win as Seattle scored a run in the bottom of the twelfth. The Angels tied the game 7-7 with three runs in the top of the ninth off JJ Putz (00).

TACOMA (AAA: 49-63; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 16-13 to Memphis. Tacoma scored ten runs in the bottom of the second, but could not hold the 10-2 lead. Adam Jones (’04) went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI for the Rainiers. Wladimir Balentien (’04) also homered and knocked in a pair for Tacoma.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 47-63 overall; 16-24 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 3-2 to Tennessee. Luis Valbuena (’06) homered for West Tennessee, but it wasn't enough.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 42-68 overall; 11-29 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks beat San Jose 9-3. Cibney Bello (’05) allowed two runs over seven innings for the win.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 17-25; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox beat Vancouver 12-10 in eleven innings. Welington Dotel doubled in the go ahead run and scored on a wild pitch in the eleventh.

AZL Mariners (Rookie: 24-9 overall; 4-1 second half 1st Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Padres 11-4.
