Mariner System Report (Games of 8/4)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 60-48; 2nd AL West): The Mariners lost 4-3 to Boston. Adrian Beltre and Yuniesky Betancourt homered for the Mariners. Former UW-Oshkosh Titan Jarrod Washburn allowed four runs over 6-1/3 innings for the loss.

TACOMA (AAA: 53-63; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Memphis 3-2. Ryan Feierabend (’04) pitched a complete game and scattered eight hits for the win. Feierabend did not walk a batter and struck out a pair. Wladimir Balentien (’04) and Bryan LaHair (’04) each had an RBI for the Rainiers.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 47-65 overall; 16-26 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 9-8 at Carolina. West Tennessee scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to take an 8-5 lead. But, Carolina scored four in the bottom of the eighth and held on for the win.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 45-68 overall; 14-29 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Inland Empire 3-2 in thirteen innings. Jeff Dominguez (’06) drove in the go ahead run in the top of the thirteenth. Roman Martinez (’06) worked three scoreless innings for the win. Marwin Vega (’06) allowed two runs in 8-1/3 innings for a no decision. Inland Empire tied the game with a run in the bottom of the ninth.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 20-25; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox beat Tri-City 6-4. Alfredo Venegas allowed three runs over six innings for the Everett’s sixth straight win.

AZL Mariners (Rookie: 25-11 overall; 5-3 second half 2nd Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Brewers 5-0.
