SEATTLE (MAJ: 36-58 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 5-4 at Kansas City. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) homered as part of a four run sixth inning to put Seattle up 4-3. But, Brandon Morrow allowed a game-winning homer in the bottom of the ninth to David DeJesus.
TACOMA (AAA: 47-49, T-3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won 6-3 at Las Vegas. Luis Oliveros (’02), Wladimir Balentien (’02), Bryan LaHair (’04), and Luis Valbuena (’06) each drove in a run for Tacoma. Justin Souza (’08) pitched two scoreless innings in relief in the second straight win for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 49-46, 8-17 5th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Tennessee 10-2. Jeffery Dominguez (’06) drove in three runs, Johan Limonta (’06) homered, and Ryan Ketchner (’02) pitched five scoreless innings to lead the way for West Tennessee.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 42-50, 10-12 second half 4th California League South Division): The Mavericks game with Modesto was suspended after the top of the first inning. They will pick up it up at that point on Sunday and play a seven inning game after the end of the suspended game.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 10-15, 2nd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox beat Tri-City 8-5. Manelik Pimentel drove in four runs for Everett. Steve Hensley struck out nine over five innings and got the win.
PULASKI (Rookie: 16-8, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Kingsport 8-7. Pulaski tied the game with three in the fifth and scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth to take over first place in their division.
PEORIA (Rookie: 7-10 7th Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 5-3 to the Padres.
