Midwest League Action (7/12)

July 12 scoreboard.

Wisconsin 5, @Fort Wayne 4: Wizards come undone.

Beloit 6, @Dayton 5: Suspended in bottom of 7th.

@South Bend 8, Kane County 6: Two steps forward, followed by two more steps forward, followed by...

Peoria 2, @West Michigan 0: What a waste...for the Whitecaps.

Burlington 10, @Lansing 4: Streak ends...Winning streak for the Lugs.

Cedar Rapids 3, @Great Lakes 1 (11 innings): An unfortunate typo for Ryan Groth, the guy who had a big hit for the Kernels against the Loons.
Cedar Rapids leftfielder Ryan Growth led off the top of the 11th inning with a triple and came home to score on a single by Carlos Colmenares as the Cedar Rapids Kernels beat the Great Lakes Loons 3-1 Saturday at Dow Diamond.
@Clinton 4, Quad Cities 1: Yes, the L-Kings won, but the real nugget is down in the story...
When Quad-Cities pitcher Josh Wilson hit Jonathan Greene with pitches in the first and fifth innings, it raised season total for the LumberKings’ infielder to 24 times he has been hit by a pitch.

That’s six more times than the previous Clinton franchise record, but eight shy of the league standard of 32 set by Michael Kinkade of Beloit in 1996.
