Mariner System Report (Games of 7/9)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 36-55 4th American League West): The Mariners beat Oakland 6-4. The Mariners scored five runs in the fifth inning to erase a 4-1 deficit.

TACOMA (AAA: 45-48, 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division):
The Rainiers lost 9-5 at Salt Lake. Rob Johnson (’05) had two hits, including a homer, and two RBI. Joe Woerman (’06) gave up eight runs over 5-2/3 innings for the loss. Justin Souza (’08) pitched 2-1/3 innings in relief in his Triple-A debut and allowed one run on two hits and retired the final seven batters he faced.


WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 47-45, 6-16 5th Southern League North Division):
The Diamond Jaxx lost 9-3 at Tennessee. The Smokies were up 6-0 after the bottom of the third inning.


HIGH DESERT (High-A: 40-49, 8-11 second half 3rd California League South Division):
The Mavericks game with Rancho Cucamonga was postponed due to a flood caused by a leaky pipe in the outfield.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 9-13, 2nd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 6-1 at Tri-Cities. Walter Suriel (’08) allowed five runs on ten hits over 4-1/3 innings for the loss.

PULASKI (Rookie: 13-8, 2nd Appalachian League East Division):
The M’s swept a doubleheader from Johnson City. Pulaski won game one 5-2. The M’s won the nightcap 8-5.

PEORIA (Rookie: 6-9 T-7th Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Royals 6-4. Ryan Feierabend (’04) allowed two runs (neither earned) on three hits over four innings in a rehab stint for the M’s.
