Rattler History July 2-10, 2000

Time to play catch up with these posts. We left off on July 1. This brand of catch-up (HA!) will be by year. This one will be July 2-10, 2000. The next will be July 2-10, 2001, and so on and so on and so on.

I did have the July 2 post pre-written, so I will add that into the various posts. The rest of it will just be scores, unless something really, really interesting happened. Back to 2000!

July 2: The Rattlers beat Kane County 2-0 at home. Shawn McCorkle and Justin Leone homered for the offense. JJ Putz pitched a complete game shutout and allowed seven hits as he struck out seven.

July 3: Kane County beat the Rattlers 1-0 in Grand Chute. Craig Anderson pitched a complete game and took the loss.

July 4: The Rattler game in Clinton was rained out. The game was scheduled to start at 2:00pm. It was officially called at 7:00pm. That was a fun day.

July 5: Clinton swept a doubleheader from the Rattlers at Riverview Stadium. The LumberKings won game one 2-1. Brad Salmon pitched a seven inning complete game for the win. Clinton won game two 2-1. John Koronka got the win with five innings. Wisconsin managed just two hits in the game. Of note: I got to meet Harold Reynolds at this game. Ryan Christianson's agent was Harold Reynolds' brother and he had sked Harold to come in and take a look at the Rattler catcher. It was neat to get a chance to talk to him.

July 6: The Rattlers won 3-2 at Clinton. Cha Seung Baek got the win with six solid innings.

July 7: The Rattlers won 5-3 at Quad City. Sheldon Fulse and Ruben Castillo drove in runs in the top of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie.

July 8: Quad City beat the Rattlers 8-4. The River Bandits scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to go up 8-2.

July 9: The Rattlers beat Quad City 4-3. Orlando Hernandez drove in a run in the top of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie.

July 10: The Ratters won 7-4 at Quad City. Wisconsin scored five runs in the fourth inning. Shawn McCorkle homered in the frame.

Rattler records after game on July 10:
Second half: 12-7
Overall: 50-37
