Mariner System Report (Games of 5/12)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 16-16; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 7-2 to the Yankees. New York scored five runs in the second inning off Miguel Batista. Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) worked 4-2/3 innings of scoreless relief after the damage had been done. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez drove in both runs for the M’s.

TACOMA (AAA: 16-21; 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Albuquerque 8-7. Jeremy Reed went 4-for-4 with four RBI for Tacoma.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 17-19; 3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Montgomery 4-3. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) drove in two runs with a double in the bottom of the eighth inning to put West Tennessee in front. Hubbard drove in three of the four Diamond Jaxx runs. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) pitched five shutout innings but, got a no decision.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 13-23; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 11-3 to Stockton. Marwin Vega (WI ’06) gave up seven runs (three earned) and took the loss. Josh Womack (WI ’05) drove in one of the High Desert runs.
