SEATTLE (MAJ: 14-14; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 9-7 at Detroit. Richie Sexson gave the M’s a 3-0 lead with a three-run homer in the top of the first inning. But, the Tigers rallied to tie and eventually take a 9-5 lead. They held on for the win.
TACOMA (AAA: 14-19; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 5-0 at Round Rock. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) had the only hit for Tacoma.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 15-17; T-2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 6-1 at Mississippi. Luis Valbuena (WI ’06) drove in the only run of the game for West Tennessee with a sacrifice fly.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 11-21; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 9-8 at Lancaster. The JetHawks rallied for five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Johan Limonta (WI ’06) had three hits and Adam Moore (WI ’06) hit a home run and knocked in three for the offense.
