Here is how the Rattlers fared from July 2 through July 10, 2001
July 2: The Rattlers won 4-1 at Kane County. John Castellano had three hits and scored a pair of runs. Roy Wells, Jared Hoerman, Hawkeye Wayne, and Aaron Taylor combined to allow just four hits and one run.
July 3: The Rattlers lost 3-1 at Kane County. Clint Nageotte allowed two hits and struck out 12 over 7-1/3 innings. Wisconsin held a 1-0 lead with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. Nageotte had allowed a leadoff single and a batter reached with one out on cathcer's interference. The call went to Tim Burton. Adrian Gonzalez launched an 0-2 pitch from Burton for a homer and 3-1 lead. Nageotte took the loss. OUCH!
July 4: The Rattlers beat Beloit 2-1 at home. Kevin Olore pitched 7-1/3 shutout innings for the win.
I was not at the games from July 5 through July 9. I was at a friend's wedding in Edmonton, Alberta. (Yes, I have friends.) But, I did fill in my book for some of those games.
July 5: The Rattlers lost 11-3 to Beloit at home. Sam Walton got knocked around in the start
July 6: The Rattlers won 13-4 over Beloit at home. Wilfredo Quintana hit a pair of three-run homers for the Rattlers. Derrick Van Dusen pitched a complete game for the win.
July 7: The Rattlers lost 4-2 in ten innings at home to Beloit.
July 8: The Rattlers beat Burlington at home, but I don't have the score. Maybe later.
July 9: The Rattlers beat Burlington at home, but I don't have the score. Maybe later.
July 10: The Rattlers were off for the Major League All-Star game.
Rattler records on July 10:
Second Half: 13-6
