Rattler History July 2-10, 2004

Here is how the Rattlers fared July 2 through July 10, 2004

July 2: The Rattlers won 4-1 over Cedar Rapids at home. Brandon Moorhead pitched eight shutout innings with 14 strikeouts. Adam Jones had a pair of hits, a pair of runs, and an RBI. Wisconsin needed three pitchers: Brad Rose, Casey Abrams, and Mike Hrynio to close out the ninth inning.

July 3: The Rattlers trailed the Kernels 1-0 at home after the top of the fourth inning. But, rain forced a suspension. The game would not be picked up again on July 15. Tom Oldham was the starting pitcher for the Rattlers in this game. He would pick up where he left off when the game was resumed.

July 4: The Rattlers lost 5-2 at Kane County. Wladimir Balentien homered, his twelfth of the season, for one of the two Rattler runs.

July 5: The Rattlers lost 5-4 at Kane County. Wisconsin scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning, but left the tying run on first base.

July 6: The Rattlers lost 8-7 at Kane County. Wisconsin tied the game with a run in the top of the ninth. But, Brian Ingram singled home the winning run off Brad Rose in the bottom of the ninth.

July 7: The Rattlers lost 3-2 in ten innings at Kane County. Michael Cox gave the Rattlers a 2-1 lead with a homer in th top of the tenth. But, Trevor Brown doubled in a pair of runs off Brian Stitt in the bottom of the tenth and the Rattlers lost.

July 8: The Rattlers lost 5-2 at Cedar Rapids.

July 9: The Rattlers lost 9-4 at Cedar Rapids. The Kernels scored twice in the first and seven times in the second.

July 10: The Rattlers won 16-2 at Cedar Rapids. Michael Cox hit a grand slam; Jeremy Dutton and Chris Collins also homered; and Nibaldo Acosta pitched six shutout innings.
